Where To Camp


Campgrounds are basically either public or private. The public campgrounds are funded with your tax dollars and therefore you have already spent some money toward their use.
Private campgrounds usually don't have such deep pockets and as such have to charge more money to make ends meet.
Due to the inconsistency of private grounds we will not say a lot about them.

If, among the public places, you stick to the federal grounds, you will find them very consistent.
Some consider that a plus, others a minus.
My personal tastes run more to the State facilities. They are not as rigid as the Feds and usually are friendlier.
On the down side of that, You may not always get what you expect. But there again is one of the reasons I prefer them.

Finding The Perfect Campground

Anyone who knows Where to Camp has heard of KOA(Kampgrounds of America).
They Are located throughout the USA and are friendly and dependable places.
They almost always have amenities that you won't find in most campgrounds.
I was pleasantly surprised one cold morning in a place I have long since forgotten, to discover heated toilet seats in their facilities! Not Camping-Kamping
