Illinois state parks, natural areas, conservation areas, recreation areas, and fish and wildlife areas. You’ll find information on camping, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, park lodges and resorts, interpretive programs and hundreds of great ideas for places to visit and things to do in outdoor Illinois.

Campsite Reservations are made at the site level. Each site maintains it's own campsite availability as well. Please contact the site you are interested in directly for mail-in and telephone reservations. E-mail reservations are not accepted.

Indiana

Fireworks, car shows, living history, reenactments, volunteer days, fishing derbies…the list goes on. There's a special event for nearly every age and taste at our park or reservoir properties. Our interpretive naturalists also offer regular public programs that include hikes, talks, craft programs, campfires and nighthikes. Regular weekly and/or monthly program schedules are available for our properties.

Iowa

Recreation Opportunities abound in Iowa State Parks and Recreation Areas. From hiking and camping to bird-watching and bicycling, each park offers outdoor enthusiasts a multitude of diverse and exciting adventures. Rich in history and natural resources, Iowa is a treasure chest of recreational excellence.


Kansas

Most Parks have camping facilities available with the exception of Mushroom Rock, Prairie Spirit Trail, and Sand Hills State Park.

Kansas

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and State Parks currently manages 24 parks across the state and The Prairie Spirit Trail. Except for Sand Hills and Mushroom Rock parks, and the Prairie Spirit Trail, all parks provide utility and primitive camping. Most have access to reservoirs and wildlife areas. Many also have trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding.

Kentucky

Kentuckians are justifiably proud of their park system, widely considered to be the nations best. The Commonwealth offers 17 state resort parks - more than any other state - and 24 state recreational parks. Within this system, visitors can hike, bike, camp, golf, fish, boat, swim, picnic, and bask in the warm glow of our famed Kentucky hospitality.

Louisiana

Louisiana's State Parks, Historic Sites, and Preservation Area offer you and your family a uniquely rewarding experience of our state's natural beauty and historical riches. Come enjoy championship fishing, relive a Civil War battle, hear the best of Louisiana's country music, or pitch a tent under the stars. Parks are open 365 days a year. State Historic Sites and our Preservation Area are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Designed to harmonize with mountain, lake, and seashore, Maine's park system is as varied as the state's landscape. Mountain trails, lakeside picnic tables, ocean beaches. In Maine, there are more than 30 state parks dedicated to the visitor's enjoyment; you'll find the people who manage them friendly and helpful. Maine's Public Reserved Lands total more than a half million acres of wild lands and are managed for a variety of resource values including recreation, wildlife, and timber. Recreational opportunities include visiting some of Maine's most outstanding natural features. Camping, hiking, hunting and fishing in secluded locations bring a closer understanding of our outdoor heritage. Visitors need to be prepared for a rugged, remote backcountry experience. Plan your trip by visiting our search page. Please don't overestimate your abilities; public reserved land units are not staffed as park or historic sites are and we want you to enjoy your trip.


Maryland Camping

Adventure From Mountains to Sea

Maryland

Maryland's State Forests and Parks offer outdoor recreational opportunities that entice the novice and challenge the experienced. From paddling down a tranquil river, to experiencing the exhilaration of whitewater rafting, to biking, hiking and horseback riding on Maryland's mountainous terrain – there's an outdoor adventure for everyone on our public lands. Campsites, for families and youth groups, include such amenities as nature centers, museums and campfire programs. Novice anglers and experienced fishermen can enjoy a favorite regional pastime throughout the state. The Maryland Park Service offers more than 2,000 campsites, 120 full-service and camper cabins, and 100 picnic shelters to guests. Reservations for these facilities can be made through a toll-free, reservation service by calling 1-888-432-2267, (8am - 8pm Monday through Friday).


It's Your Nature

Massachusetts

Advanced reservations are available for 28 state forests and park campgrounds. To make a reservation:

call toll-free 1-877-I-CAMP-MA or 1-877-422-6762 Reservations may be made as early as six months prior to the date of arrival, and as late as one day prior to arrival. Customers may make camping reservations for several dates at one time. However, reservations are limited to 14 cumulative days in any one park between Memorial Day and Labor Day. There is a 2 day minimum on most reservations. Customers must be 18 years or older to make a reservation. ID is required upon registration at the campground.

The call center is open Monday through Sunday 8 am to 8 pm between April and Labor Day. Between September and March, the call center is open Mon through Friday 9 am to 7 pm and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Credit card payments are accepted. With personal check or money order transactions, full payment is required within ten (10) days of making the reservation. The reservation transaction charge is $9.25 per reservation.


Great Lakes, Great Times, Great Outdoors

Michigan

Every campground is located on a river or lake, providing excellent access to fishing, boating and canoeing. Over 60 campgrounds have nearby pathways for non-motorized trail recreation, such as hiking, biking, horseback riding and nature observation. The campgrounds also are the base for other recreation opportunities including picnicking, mushroom gathering, berry picking, cross country skiing and hunting.

Accommodations range from 5 to 50 campsites, with group sites available. All campgrounds have vault toilets and potable water from hand pumps. Some sites are so remote they can only be reached by a determined hike through picturesque woods or by paddling down a scenic river course.

Minnesota

State Parks & Recreation Division Develops and manages a system of 66 parks, six state recreation areas, and eight waysides that contain examples of Minnesota's most scenic lands. From long treks along the rugged coast of Lake Superior, to wandering the open spaces of the Minnesota River Prairie, you'll find plenty of hiking opportunities in Minnesota's state forests, and parks.
